The UN Refugee Agency:  digital • social • print • experiential

The UNHCR is an agency established by the UN to help protect and safeguard refugees. A blue door served as our icon to illustrate how the UNHCR can open doors to rescue and shelter, and restore the lives of millions of refugees. The campaign was created to commemorate Refugee Day, June 20th.

Art Installation: We created an art installation using blue doors, to stay open for 37 days to represent the 3.7 million refugees the UNHCR has helped.

Facebook: People could donate their status in support of refugees #OpenDoorsForRefugees

Co-sponsorship with Google for Refugee Day

Experiential: The White House, world embassies, and the UN could paint their doors blue.

Print and Posters

Pop-up stores and UNHCR donation site page mimicked a refugee camp, with products for sale that refugees need, like blankets, lanterns and schoolbooks. "Purchasing" a refugee product resulted in a donation.
